Ultimately its your choice Rob, but we had a member (Paul Mclean) who turned up with some 4 or 6 channel radio, and he had all sorts of problems getting it to work properly, without the fixed x and y axis on the sticks its very hard to control. Jas Manley will remember it, as will Rick and Dave Ashman i expect, honestly Rob, as much of a bargain as it may seem, i personally would steer well clear of it. much better off getting either a 2 or 3 channel surface use only radio thats designed for the job.

All the best

BB

Well if fixing the sticks so that the Throttle only moves up and down and the Stearing only moves left to right. That realy doesnt sound like much of a problem at all.

Like i said Rob, its your choice. I owned largescale for 10 years, raced for 6, won the endurance race, won the team challenge, have come 3rd in 2 nationals, was sweetnap chairman, came 4th in the sweetnap championship 3 years running (i hate Rick Ashman!!) etc etc etc, trust me mate, or ask around at a club day, i'd steer well clear of it!

I hear what your saying. But ive never been someone that takes advice just based on another persons say so (No offence intended). I just prefer to make my decisions based on sound technical reasoning. Which is why I asked if anyone knew WHY I should not use it. What im realy hoping for is if someone knows exactly what the technical differences are. As for fixing the sicks, well im a pretty practical person and very familiar with Micro Electronics. So fixing the sticks so they only work in one direction for each stick, isnt a big problem for me.

Point taken, and no offence taken.

just from experience Rob, if you turn up at a race meeting with a radio thats designed for planes/helicopters etc, and for whatever reason someone else gets interference/radio problems, then the finger will be pointed at you! Its a sad fact, but unless you can convince the other guys that your radio is not the one causing them problems then thats what will happen!!

All the best with your quest for technical info, sorry i cant help you there!

Cheers

BB

There should be no cross talk, I thought that was the whole point of the 2.4 Ghz Spread Spectrum Tecnology ?
