Please help
My hormann will not last a 20min final on the tarmac.
It runs out of fuel in 15 minutes, the tank seems to get lots of pressure in it and then sends all the petrol out of the vent pipe.

The vent pipe is not in the tank to far, i have no windows in the car so it gets lot of air in.
When i ran a standard 26cc with a RN tuning pipe it would not do 10mins on a tank but was very hot day.
Now i have a hobby center ported 23cc and RN tuning pipe it will do 15 minutes. I tried the standard pipe as it was sugested that might help.
The standard pipe did help a bit but it broke off the engine on the second lap. I even tried a marder tank but the pressure get so hight it blows the fuel line off or even the tank lid. im at my witts end is this a heat problem or what? can anybody help this nightmare go away! thanks rich.

Hi Richard

So you have decided to go down the dark route of outlaw Wink Been there done that Rolling Eyes

The only way I fixed that problem was to fit a Touring car Fg EVO4 tank. But this also means you have to be a bit creative with the exhaust system.

I started with a standard exhaust and cut it down in two places firstly as I becomes a round diameter out of the manifold plate, and then you need to shorten the 1st straight so it clears the filler hole of the new tank. I'll sort out some pics mate.

I managed to sort my car out but it has cost me Shocked I don't even what it count it up but it is a lot.

FG visco diff with optional extra vanes no use in damp or wet conditions
Or Oddie MAG diff but this is unproven!! not sure if any good in wet but reviews are good

shorted standard exhaust (£110 for a new one)

FG evo tank £25.00 +p&p
Latuerbacher Filler conversion £26.00 +p&p

Tyres I use are Elligi F1 mounted from Hobbytech/rc-car-online.de

XX SOFT for wet damp cold conditions front/rear.
Grade A fronts for warm weather.
Grade A rear for warm weather.
Grade B fronts for warm to hot weather.

Harm BX 2 FRONT anti roll bar moddifed and fitted to rear wishbones.Part number unknown as it was left over from my BX2, Rapid racing does not list part number!!

Just a few bits you might need to get anywhere near the contrasts Wink Wink

But back to the fuel tank problems if you fit the evo tank with filler conversion it should be good to go. Last meeting I raced I came !!! not sure possible second Rolling Eyes but fuel tank had a Third left after twenty minutes and that was a warm / hot day!!!
I raced yesterday at Sweetnap and finished 1st in B final then Third in the A final(lucky race) But I finished with a 1/4 tank left after 25 minutes Laughing Could have been a better day but I left the visco diff in the car and they are shite in the wet let alone wet astroturf...

Good luck with the Outlaw but the Only time I ever got won at brooklands was when both Contrasts broke down Rolling Eyes (but the win does not show up due to the fact Iwas not a member at the time).

That said outlaw if far far easier to race than offroad bloody bumps Laughing Laughing

All the Best Simon Shepherd (sweetnap new chairman in waiting Confused)
