ok guys
new to all this large scale , so be easy with me lol
right got a second hand marder to play around with , took it out tonight and found that the upper and lower screws holding the steering arms to the hub kept on coming loose Sad , bottoms more than the tops , have screwed them back up but seems the plastic hub carriers arent good enough to keep the threads , now i know thread lock wont hold them in so whats an alternative apart from the obvious alloy hubs Shocked ,
thanks in advance
rob

Hi Rob,

Alloy hubs really are the way to go, but if you want a quick and effective fix then look at what Adrian has done to his MCD, he also made the same mod to his FG Beetle.

This works well if you use the strongest s**t you can to fix the stud in, and hopefully with the nut on the top you should never have cause to remove it Very Happy

I think i'm right in saying that the newer plastic FG hubs have a steel insert in them to try and remedy the problem you are having.

Also an option is to wrap a strog zip tie between the upper and lower wishbones to stop them from pulling out the bolt, dont do the zip tie up toooo tight though or you will effect the suspension movement.

Hope this helps
